San Francisco's Proud Parade
With rainbow flags stretching along San Francisco's Market Street and a host of floats making their way through the streets, the city's annual Pride Parade promises to be colourful celebration this year.
Held on June 23rd and 24th, San Francisco's Pride Celebration and Parade is the culmination of a month of events celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender life.
The city's pride celebration has been held every year since 1972 and is now regarded as one of the biggest and most famous pride events in the world.
Each year, thousands march along the parade route before the city's Civic Centre hosts a diverse range of artists and performers.
Previous years have seen the likes of En Vogue, the B-52s, Chaka Khan and Joan Baez grace the stage.
There are a number of free viewing areas along Market Street, while the city is sure to boast many cheap hotels for those wishing to take in the festivities.
