'Savvy' Brits Book Cheap Hotels
Brits are a "price-led" nation when it comes to booking a cheap hotel and holiday, according to one travel expert.
Bob Atkinson, from comparison site travelsupermarket.com, said that whereas Europeans are led by quality, Brits are happy with just finding the best deal.
"We're quite savvy in terms of let's only spend our money where we need to spend our money and where we do let's make sure we drive the best deal by shopping around," he explained.
According to the website, Brits will allow themselves £1,014 per person for main holidays this year.
Mr Atkinson recommended that the best deal for travellers this year is to go to a non-Eurozone destination. People who book a cheap hotel in New York, for example, can find "better value" with the dollar.
"Whilst the perception is dollar-based destinations are dropping off the radar, it is still actually year-on-year slightly better value than it was last year," he added.
