Scale the World's Most Famous Skyscraper

Scale the world's most famous skyscraper The Empire State Building - one of the world's most iconic structures and a symbol of the city of New York.

Its 1,250-foot height means that few people would ever consider visiting the top of the Empire State Building without the assistance of a lift, but a group of individuals hoping to do just that will be gathered, running shoes at the ready, at the foot of the tower on February 5th.

Tower-running has become something of an international craze, with famous buildings all over the world being scaled by enthusiastic joggers, but the Empire State Building is arguably the most famous and popular location for the activity.

Some 86 flights of stairs and 1,576 steps stand between the ground floor of this mammoth structure and its lofty observation deck.

While the race itself is invitation-only - based on athletic ability and background - those hoping to watch this impressive spectacle should get their hotels in New York booked soon.

The Empire State Building was built in 1931 and was the world's tallest building from the time of its construction until 1972.
