Snow Capped Mountain in Orlando

Snow capped mountain in Orlando The latest tourist attraction to arrive in Florida is a snow-capped, 60-metre mountain designed to resemble Mount Everest at Disney World in Orlando.

The hill, which is constructed from 25,000 steel components, has cost more than $100 million and is said to be the most expensive rollercoaster ever constructed.

Expedition Everest is expected to be used to raise the parks profile as a nature conservationist.

Bob Iger, president and CEO of the Walt Disney Company, commented that the mountain was "astoundingly authentic".

Rollercoaster designers spent months travelling through the Himalayas collecting over 2,000 items of furniture and decorations for the ride.

At the peak of the mountain, passengers are brought to an abrupt halt where the coaster then reverses backwards at high speed.

Expedition Everest is just one element of the Animal Kingdom, one of four large theme parks in Disney World.

This summer why not book your trip to Disney World in Florida and stay in one of the many luxurious hotels in Orlando?
