The Million Dollar Horse
Fans of horseracing heading to the United States could be seeing thoroughbreds competing for top dollar at Arlington Park near Chicago in August - or rather a million of them.
The Arlington International Festival of Racing, held on August 11th 2007, will feature Grade three racing at its best and most lucrative, with the $1 million (£500,000) Arlington Million being run for horses aged three or over.
Naturally enough, this is one of America's top race meetings, with packed grandstands filled with punters looking to enjoy the best races.
The Arlington Park website states that tickets can be bought for $10 for ground entry, with reserved seats in the grandstand at $20 and higher prices for the posh seats.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels in the area can also enjoy trips to nearby Chicago, with its spectacular skyline and waterside location on the banks of Lake Michigan.
