The Wonder of Williams

Fans of the famous American dramatist Tennessee Williams will have the chance to enjoy a whole festival dedicated to his works in New Orleans this spring.

Held from March 28th to April 1st, the event will feature readings and theatre productions of the work of the famous writer, with organisers listing Rancho Poncho, The Travelling Companion and Lifeboat Drill among the works featured.

According to the official programme, seminars held at the event will include a number of distinguished authors, such as Pulitzer Prize winners Jusuf Komunyakaa and Joseph Ford, along with several New York Times best-selling authors.

While New Orleans is gradually recovering from the ravages of Hurricane Katrina, there is still plenty of accommodation available for visitors, including cheap hotels.

The French Quarter, which survived the storm largely intact, will be there to provide plenty of entertainment and the rhythms of jazz and blues are also returning to help visitors enjoy the revival of the famous city.
