Those who like their chicken wings can indulge to their hearts delight in Buffalo, New York State, in September.
Dieters be warned, this is definitely one for those with a big appetite, with the festival inspired by the film Osmosis Jones, in which Bill Murray played a compulsive eater who dreamed of going to the "buffalo wing festival" - a mythical event until the city decided to turn the idea into reality.

According to organisers, over 150 restaurants have taken part in the festival since its inception in 2001, during which time 85 tons of wings have been eaten.
