Xmas Shopping in the Sunshine

Xmas shopping in the sunshine Britons who are fed up with trawling around in the freezing cold for their Christmas presents may be pleased to realise that there is another way to shop.

Church Street Station in Orlando, one of the largest shopping, dining and entertainments complexes in Florida, will be holding a special Christmas celebration in November and December 2006.

This might be the perfect opportunity to book into on of the area's cheap hotels and do that last-minute shopping, while escaping the big freeze of the UK winter at the same time.

Although directly in the middle of downtown Orlando, visitors will find a Christmas experience of the past, with a cobblestone block decorated for the festive celebrations, a 20 ft Great American Christmas Tree providing the central focus.

Locally, the lighting of the tree is seen as a mark of welcoming the season to Orlando, although Florida's famous sunshine may mean that that it's more likely to get sunburn than frostbite.
