Young Frankenstein Comes Alive in New York
Fans of musicals, comedy and horror alike will find something to enjoy at New York's Hilton Theatre over the coming months as it hosts a run of Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein.
From the creators of Broadway sensation The Producers, this show is a stage version of Mel Brooks' re-imagining of the Frankenstein legend.
The story follows Frederick Frankenstein, a bright young doctor who decides to take up the work once pursued by his grandfather and attempts to bring a corpse back to life.
Frankenstein eventually creates a monster, much like the doctor of the original Mary Shelley story, but with a number of new and hilarious complications.
The Young Frankenstein musical includes a variety of weird and wonderful characters, including the doctor's helper Igor, his voluptuous lab assistant Inga and his highly-strung girlfriend Elizabeth.
People staying in cheap hotels in New York who see the show will also be entertained by musical numbers including The Transylvania Mania, He Vas My Boyfriend and Puttin' On the Ritz.
